I just recently became a first-time home owner. It was a long process, but my Realtor was very patient and understanding for my shopping preference and motives. I started shopping for a condo last summer. Right before I was about to place an offer, my Realtor inquired further on the listing and found that the building/condo association was in the red. I thanked him for his honesty in providing me info that there is be a possibility that a special assessment could be enforced on new and existing owners - as such, I withdrew my offer and postponed my house shopping. I gained a lot of trust in my Realtor for his honesty in going the extra mile in researching the condition of the building. Six months later, we started shopping again and placed an offer on a short sale. Throughout the waiting process and attorney review, my Realtor was very informative as I was new to the process of purchasing a house. Not only did he guide me through the necessary tasks, but he was also very attentive during the process. From shopping for a condo unit last year, I am now an owner of a two-flat investment.Arvin Villanueva, Irving Park
